WHY THEY DO WHAT THEY DO

It was the look – he was prepared for her sadness,
he was prepared for her pain, but her disappointment
completely blind-sided him.

He had heard all the stories about how his quiet and
withdrawn uncle had once been a loud, boisterous and
fun-loving brother.  He knew that the documentaries he saw
in school showed a place far, far away that his uncle
neither talked about nor shared of his military experiences.
Vietnam.  He knew that this country continues to struggle
with its involvement in that long and painful war.
He knew that those returning young soldiers
suffered personally from civilian frustrations
and the horror of real time war.
He knew all of this, yet her look when
TAPS was played from a tape,
instead of a grateful, respectful, live person,
shattered his resolve to be strong for her.

This is why the Knights do what they do.

This story is shared to encourage you to give a
piece of yourself to grieving, heartbroken families.
Please reach out and volunteer your services
to sound TAPS.
Your unselfish gift of time will have an
immeasurable impact on sad but proud families.

They answered the call to serve,
PLEASE answer the call to acknowledge.

PLEASE!!
