THE GUARDIANS OF FREEDOM

A bugler was once overheard speaking of his turn to sound taps...

He said no one was there.                 He was mistaken.
He said no one was listening.           He was mistaken.
He said he was alone.                        He was mistaken.

What he didn't see, what he didn't hear, who he didn't
recognize were the angels who quietly man that sacred
ground, like the sentinels of our freedoms buried in that
hallowed ground.  They stand just beyond our reach,
but they are there and they are listening.
Who we are, why we do what we do.
